Thanks to the initiative of the Regional Councilorship of the BB.CC., in collaboration with Aditus – concessionaire of the additional services of the Park of Naxos and Taormina and the archaeological area of Syracuse, on Friday February 15th a group of travel bloggers visited Syracuse, “telling” the cultural heritage preserved in our wonderful city to the many followers who daily follow their adventures around the world.
Driving bloggers has been a wonderful opportunity. A whole day spent between the Parco della Neapolis and the island of Ortigia, during which the bloggers, assisted by local guides, had the chance to discover the magic hidden behind the sacred stones of the wonderful Greek theater, the acoustic effects of the ‘Orecchio di Dionisio, the legend of the nymph Aretusa kept in the waters of the spring, as well as tasting the typical local products at the cafeterias of the Archaeological Park and the Museum of Palazzo Bellomo.
“Accepting the best of the exponents of the new digital communication – affirms councilor Tusa – is a pleasure but also an indispensable step for a modern process of valorisation and dissemination. Cultural heritage must be disseminated by means that can reach various groups of users, and in this sense the involvement of travel bloggers in Syracuse will bring thousands of people, especially young people, the Sicilian cultural heritage to smartphones and computers. The technology – concludes Tusa – is often wrongly considered the enemy of culture and knowledge. This experience teaches us that the wise use of new means of communication represents the added value to the new communication strategies of the Sicilian Region “.
